The Smart Parking Meter System is the world's first roadside parking management system that integrates automatic occupancy detection, license plate recognition technology, cloud platform and multi payment methods. It enhances the management efficiency and turnover rate of existing roadside parking spaces and is able to provide a full function backend support system. The Smart Parking Meters can be seen in operation in Taipei City, Tainan City and in the Kaohsiung Software Park.
Drivers can obtain real-time information on the availability of the roadside parking spots. By doing so, it helps to reduce traffic congestion and waste emissions from cars searching for parking spaces. In addition, the Smart Parking Meter accepts on-site payment with a smartcard or payment via the PKLOT App, making the parking payment convenient and time-saving.
For the parking operators, this system can automatically issue parking fee tickets, reduce costs and errors, and can immediately report the availability of the roadside parking spaces to the PKLOT App. With all the data collected through the Smart Parking Meter, Acer ITS is able to provide more insights for cities on urban planning and transportation policy, making and help to make the city smarter for everyone.
